How to organize a weekend getaway to Madrid
Let's assume that your trip to Madrid is for a couple of days, although we all know that you will probably take advantage of a long weekend if you have the opportunity.
See Madrid in two days? Impossible! The capital has so many things that you would lack days in a month or even a year to see and enjoy them all. But you can get to the essentials. For this we recommend public transport and, above all, comfortable sneakers. You have to walk a lot!
Morning
You can start by seeing the most central places. Start at the Royal Palace and go up to the Plaza Mayor and then to the Puerta del Sol. You can go down through the Congreso and reach the Plaza de Neptuno. Nearby you will find the Prado Museum, at least to see it from the outside.
Evening
From the Prado Museum, go up towards the Church of San Jeronimo to enter El Retiro. There you can spend part of the afternoon strolling around, see the Crystal Palace and even go on a boat in the pond. At the exit, you have the Puerta de Alcalá and, very close, the Plaza de Cibeles. From there you can walk along the Gran Via to Callao and then to Plaza de España.
With this itinerary through Madrid, you may have more than covered your first day. If you see that you have time to spare (which we doubt), walk down from Plaza de España to the Temple of Debod and you will enjoy the best sunset in the city.
Be aware of who you are traveling with
To see as much as possible in a few days in Madrid, you need to consider whether you go alone, with family, with children or as a couple, because it will depend on your pace to see places and, of course, also the means of transport you use.
With children or elderly people, it is best to go by subway or even by bus, so you can enjoy the city at the same time that you move forward. If you are young or it is a family plan with teenagers, walking is healthy! This way, in addition, you will arrive at your accommodation to sleep all night long.
This aspect should also be taken into account because, depending on the plan, you may want to book a hotel in one place or another. For example, our proposal for one of the days in Madrid is to visit the Parque de Atracciones, so you may be interested in staying nearby. We have an offer to book the hotel along with your ticket to make everything much easier for you.
In addition, the company is also key to know whether to spend more time on some things or others, if you stop more in one place or another or even if you want to focus directly on your visit to the Parque de Atracciones and leave the cultural and heritage visits for another occasion. You decide!
Save time for Parque de Atracciones Madrid
The order of the factors does not alter the product. That is to say, you can come one day to the Parque de Atracciones de Madrid and the next day visit the city or the other way around but what is non-negotiable is that in your next visit to the capital you have here a mandatory stop.
We are located in Casa de Campo, so you can get here by public transport without any problem.
Once in our facilities, you will see that the park is structured in four themed areas. What will you find in each of them?
- Machinism. This is the most exciting area and only the brave dare to try it. The Lanzadera is our star attraction. Do you dare to free fall 63 meters high?
- Tranquility. If you prefer a calmer plan, in this part of the park you can relax with a ride on La Jungla, one of our most incredible water attractions.
- Nature. Here you can also find water attractions such as Los Fiordos or Los Rápidos and an amazing roller coaster: TNT - El Tren de la Mina. You have to go on it!
- Nickelodeon Land. And if the plan is more for children, this area is specially designed for the little ones of the house, with attractions that they will love, such as Hero Spin or Splash Bash.
Obviously, our advice is that you structure the day by zones to enjoy all possible attractions and you can even repeat the ones you like the most.
In addition, so that you do not waste a minute, you can choose to have a snack or recover your strength with some fast food. And, if you prefer, you can also take a break while you enjoy a full menu in one of our themed restaurants.
Remember that this park is not only about rides and attractions and that we always have special shows for you to enjoy the most incredible shows and musical performances. They are for the whole family and, depending on the season, we are sure to surprise you with a different show. Can you think of a better itinerary for a weekend in Madrid than getting to know the city and the Parque de Atracciones? We are waiting for you with open arms!
